Pros and cons of Word Wheel app for iPhone and iPad
Word Wheel app good for
Great educational app. The customize option alone is worth the install. My kids love seeing familiar things on the wheel. Good job!
This is a fun match & learn game that I bought for my 6 year old, but my toddler likes it too. We will be practicing our words a lot: thanks!
I was impressed when my 3-year old cousin picked up on recognizing some new words very quickly (in the "Advanced Level"). Its a good app that I plan to use when I babysit my cousins. They already like it, so that helps me. :-)
I really enjoy all the Loeschware applications. This one is really helpful to kiddos learning to read. Plus I love all the customizing options! I definitely recommend this app to anyone with kids.
This is a great game! My kids have a few games (old school from the toy store...) that they enjoy where you match the words and pictures but this is a huge improvement on them because of the levels of difficulty. The animations are so cute and fun. The personalization stuff is really cool too.
Simple game, well executed, my boys all enjoy this game. My 6 year old can even work the customization tool! Id love to see more vehicles, maybe even a whole new category for them?
Some bad moments
I thought my granddaughter was really recognizing words (or at least the sounds of enough letters to make good choices). I was really proud until she, in all innocence, explained, "No Grandma, I just stop on the word where the lock shows up." As an adult reader, I hadnt even NOTICED the tiny lock that appears ONLY when you stop the wheel on the right word. As a non- reader, she saw it and naturally found it an easier clue to the right answers than the letters. Im still proud of her, but really annoyed with this app for undermining what would otherwise be a great learning tool.
